Before, during, and after the request

How the Service-Connection Process Works

A clear request helps an independent provider understand the location, hazard, likely equipment, and timing. You remain in control of whether to schedule and authorize work.

Three-step requestNo automatic obligationProvider terms vary

From symptom to decision

The three-step process

  1. 1

    Describe the problem

Submit the exact service address, ZIP code, door position, symptoms, timing, and access conditions.

  2. 2

    Review provider contact

A participating independent provider may call or message to confirm territory, availability, service charges, and the issue.

  3. 3

    Authorize only after review

Confirm the company, written scope, price, parts, warranty, and payment terms. You are not required to approve work you do not understand.

What information may be shared

The LeadSmart form may collect contact details, location, service category, timing, and problem information. Submission can result in contact from one or more independent service providers or service partners, subject to the consent language shown with the form.

Read the form disclosure and linked privacy terms before submitting. Do not include sensitive information that is not needed for a service request.

Useful information

  • Name and contact method.
  • Exact service address and ZIP.
  • Door symptom and current position.
  • Preferred timing and access notes.
  • Photos only when requested and safely taken.

Before work begins

What the provider should confirm

Identity

Company name, callback information, and who will arrive.

Availability

Whether the ZIP and door type are covered, plus realistic timing.

Charges

Service-call, diagnostic, travel, after-hours, parts, labor, and tax.

Scope

Problem found, work proposed, required versus optional items.

Warranty

Written parts and labor terms, exclusions, and responsible company.

Completion

Balance, travel, safety reversal, cleanup, and homeowner demonstration.

Urgent situations still require informed consent

A stuck-open or unstable door may require quick stabilization, but urgency should not erase price and scope disclosure. Ask whether the first visit is intended to secure the door, release a vehicle, diagnose the system, complete a permanent repair, or perform several of those tasks.

For fire, injury, electrical danger, active crime, downed lines, or structural collapse risk, contact the appropriate emergency authority first.

Common questions

Process FAQs

Am I charged for submitting the form?

The website does not state a form-submission fee, but independent providers may charge for travel, service calls, diagnosis, or after-hours response. Confirm before scheduling.

Will only one company contact me?

Not necessarily. Lead routing depends on the network and consent terms. Review the form disclosure before submission.

Can Alabama Garage Door approve a refund or warranty claim?

No. Pricing, payment, warranties, refunds, and workmanship are matters between the homeowner and independent provider.

Can I cancel after speaking with a provider?

Discuss cancellation terms directly with the provider. Do not authorize work or sign agreements until you understand the terms.

What if the provider recommends more work than expected?

Ask for the diagnosis, photos or physical explanation, required versus optional items, and a written quote. For non-urgent major work, consider another opinion.
